Festival Santa Rita de Lima was held in el Barrio Amelia de Guaynabo,Puerto Rico on Aug. 29-30 2009. Truco y Zaperoko one of the best Puerto Rican Plena groups performed with their fusion of plena,bomba and rumba .
From Miami Fl, Plena Punto Sabroso really warmed up the crowd it was exciting for the musicians to be back home in Puerto Rico and perform "para su pueblo".
All who attended enjoyed the music of various local talents it was awesome.
I had the opportunity to site see in El Viejo San Juan and take La Lancha de Cataño. I got rained on by a super agucero typical for this time of year. El piraguero served up some mean piraguas of frambuesa, crema y tamarindo.
All and all it was a great experience that would make anyone homesick for the island.
