PuertoRicans.Com
- Exclusive Special Edition From
Carnaval Week and Calle 8 was once again awesome. We
start off the festivities in South Beach with Billy
Van who flew in from Puerto Rico to delight us with
his unique style of singing and dancing plena with the
backup of some of the members of Miami's own "Plena
Punto Sabroso. The music continued the following day
at Carnaval on the Mile celebrating its 10th anniversary
with a terrific line up of jazz artist from New Orleans,Puerto
Rico,Cuba and New York. Arturo Sandoval, Ed Calle ,Negroni's
Trio, Mingus Big Band, and Grammy nominated Tony Perez
were some the performers. The 3 day jazz festival was
headlined with additional artist. It has now become a
tradition that everyone enjoys.
Calle 8 was spectacular! It was the 30th anniversary
and attracted more than a million people. The city of
Miami and the Kiwanis are able to attract visitors from
all over the world and pull off an event that blends
so many cultures together in one day. Once again the
music, food and attractions lived up to our expectations.
