The Fiestas Patronales and Business Expo were held in Broward County for the 7th year and once again it was a huge success! It has now become the largest events in the county and this year the entertainment in the Fiestas was greater than ever.
The Sonora Ponceña, Tommy Olivencia , Luis "Perico" Ortiz, Tony Vega and Batukealo. Everyone enjoyed the native foods of Puerto Rico . The "pica de caballitos" always draws a crowd and for the kids their were carnival rides and of course cotton candy.
The event organizer and President/CEO Frank Nieves out did himself this year. The patronizers of the festival also delighted in the new talents of "Melina Almodovar and Fiestas All-stars. Platano and Shelina also said "presente". Despierta America's Jackie Garrido from Univision appeared and is "orgullo boricua".
South Florida has seen a steady growth of the Puerto Rican community in the past years and as always continues to support these events and demonstrates "Que aqui si hay cultura".
