The town of CAGUAS was founded in 1775 . Estimated population as of 2000 is 140,502. Caguas well know as Cagüeños, La Ciudad del Turabo and Criollos, famous phrases as "Sopla Bairoa".

This great town has been growing. Recently new statues and monuments have been placed as "Monumento a La India", "La Pava" a mosaic of "Puerto Rico Ilustres", "El Puente de las Damas" and "buliador"(a bass drum) by David Aponte.
